Hot Tip: Best Way to Force Systems Into Your Biz

In today’s Hot Tip episode, we’re digging into how to force systems into your pet care business. Systems are not just going to appear in your business. As nice as that would be, it requires intention to build systems into your business.

If you are not naturally a systems person (hello, it’s me), here are some ways you can force that growth.

How to force systems growth in your pet care business:

  1. Set targets that are too big to achieve without having a system in place.

Every time I have taken my business to the next level, it has required a system in order to achieve it. Whether this was figuring out a new software I needed, an invoicing system, or a staff protocol and training so that more people could help me do the work, setting a large target has always forced the systems in my business.

To be honest, my main takeaway/hack for you is this one. I think it’s better to build actual systems for growth than to build systems for perfections or for the heck of it. Picking a specific target that requires a specific system and actually committing to achieving it is the best way I know to force change in your business.

2. Put people in place that you are accountable to.

Having people to be accountable to has always been a force-multiplier for me when it comes to making changes. If I have people I am accountable to, I’m much more likely to follow through on putting systems in place that they need to succeed.

3. Learn to see systems as a game you are elevating through, rather than something stressful.

I’m still working on this one TBH, but if you can see systems as a game to play, rather than something stressful you dislike, your success will be much higher in your implementation. Your IQ literally improves when you reduce stress. Figure out how to reduce your stress while building systems and they will naturally improve.
